December 2010 – A Review
Alright, here we go. After getting over a round of the stomach flu, we finally got our decorations up and set about creating our annual “fambily” Christmas card. One of the big events of the year was my husband being in a movie called Fubar 2, so we chose to pay homage to that in our cards.
Our card photo – which we may have to explain to older recipients…
Then, amidst various gift making projects and shopping, we took some time to go and visit Santa at the mall. Instead of the usual ridiculously priced deal, I chose to go somewhere where you could take your own photos. I loved the chance to capture some “candid” shots of the boys (and the fact that it was all free didn’t hurt either).
And while Santa was a bit sketchy (see photo here as well)…
…there were fun activities – like making decorations…
…and writing letters to Santa – to keep they boys amused.
Plus, some great scenery to take other photos in.
Children willing, of course. 😉
One of my gift making projects included a calendar of the boys. I make them every year as an annual gift to the grandparents, and now the aunties as well. Plus, I make an extra copy for the wall in the baby’s room, as I love being reminded of the fun stuff we’ve done and looking back at how far we’ve come in such a short time. Here are a few pages from this year’s edition.
When school was done, we made time for things like bowling, gingerbread train decorating, more gift making, and so on. And after MUCH anticipation and excitement, it was finally time for Christmas morning itself…
Monkeyboy Junior was right in there, enjoying his stocking ASAP.
But Monkeyboy Jr. Junior took a little while to warm up to things.
“Look at all this cool stuff, little brother!”
“Do I have to?”
“C’mon…it’s lots of fun!”
“Well…hmm…okay, I guess. If I must.”
“Santa got it right! Oh, YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!”
“Hey, look. It’s a big stick. I can hit stuff with it. Maybe it’s not so bad.”
And that was pretty much Christmas. The following day, we had a casual little get together with our friends – pizza and pop and X-Boxing Day festivities and the like.
Monkeyboy Junior decided it was his job to host the event.
While Monkeyboy Jr. Junior decided that singing and dancing for applause was much more his speed. Uh-oh.
It was lots of fun, though things got a little outta hand… =P
And that was pretty much that. I hope your holiday season was as fun and silly as ours, and that 2011 is filled with many more wonderful and crazy things! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and contributing when you did. From me to you…hugs! And…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
