August Break 2012 – Day 17
So, yesterday we got started on prepping the deck for some new stain.
We put the Monkeyboys to work removing all of the pebbles they had brought onto the deck over the years. Eventually, Monkeyboy Junior Jr. figured out that he could use his screwdriver like a lever, popping out the pebbles by stomping on the handle. It was terribly cute. 😉
Then my husband rented one of those big, industrial-sized sanders and just got it done. It’s smooth as paper now, although we still need to do the edges and the railings a bit.
We spent the evening relaxing with “The Incredibles” and popcorn.
This morning MBJJ was diving into the costume bin first thing.
He and his brother decided to make good use of the deck furniture being out on the lawn, and they started launching some Angry Birds around.
Oh, how I adore these boys. Especially when they are playing nicely together.
When the eldest went in to play on the computer, MBJJ tried to find another playmate. I think he has some good cross-marketing instincts. 😉
Later, they were playing with a bunch of the other costumes… and somehow ended up back where they started – except in swapped roles.
Those poor costumes are taking quite a beating these days. I’m pretty sure Tony Stark never had to resort to Scotch Tape. 😉 But it’s been so much fun to watch them play, and to play with them when I can.
