August Break 2012 – Day 10 To Great Falls, MT
Here are some snaps from our first day of travel. They are not really spectacular, as they were taken from a moving car or whilst moving after a moving 3-year-old… but I thought I’d share nonetheless.
I did most of the cleaning, packing, and prep the night before, so we were miraculously on the highway heading to the States by 10am.
There was a lot of prairie to cover.
I mean… a LOT.
And then some.
Though the landscape was also peppered with a fair share of grain processing and storage equipment…
… a few small towns…
… and even some giant wind turbine blades being maneuvered to be loaded onto trains…
… but still, I have never seen so much prairie!
After brief stops for multiple pee breaks, lunch in Lethbridge, shaking it out, and eventual border crossing at Sweetgrass, the landscape gradually got more hilly.
And valley-ey. 😉 And then it was my turn to drive, and the camera got put away for safety…
We arrived in Great Falls, Montana by 5ish. The boys were ecstatic to finally get out of the car, and bounced off the walls… er, beds, for quite some time.
Then we grabbed some grub…
… the boys checked out the hotel pool…
… and I went in search of a few groceries and some American cash. I found these along the way, and since we were on our way to a wedding, I snatched them up for the bride and groom.
Then it was back to the room for some cartoons and relaxing before we hit the road again the following day. Hit being the operative word, I suppose. Ooops.
