August Break 2012 – Day 9
We started the day with some monkeying around with Monkeyboy Junior Jr. Daddy is far more rough-and-tumble than I, but MBJJ really seems to like getting tossed around – especially when he can pretend that he’s flying like Superman.
I shot these using the “High Speed Continuous Drive” for the very first time. There wasn’t quite enough light in our living room to get great in-focus images, so I’m going to kick them outside next time… 😉
Later in the day I was running errands and I saw this beauty at the store.
Unlike most of the dragonflies I’ve seen this summer, it didn’t fly away as I inched closer for a photo. In fact, when I was done shooting, I got it to climb onto my finger and lifted it a few inches away from the flowers before the poor insect had had enough of me. Soooo cool!
I decided to take home a pot of lovely flowers to commemorate the experience… and because they were on for $5 and gorgeous!
And then there was the insanity of cleaning the house for the house/dog sitter, and washing and packing all the clothes and other assorted goodies for our upcoming trip. So, uh… no more pretty pictures. For today. Anyhow. Wish us luck!
