Embroidery Circles
Okay. Here’s the deal. I’ve been looking for small, inexpensive embroidery hoops for a while now, and I stumbled across these kits at Michael’s.
For each $1.50 kit: a rubber & plastic hoop (not ideal, but I like that they kind of look like old time watches), a new needle (yay!), some embroidery thread I can use (now and later)… and a cross-stitch square (which I have no idea what to do with – yet).
Using the line art that I found yesterday, and the light of the sun…
I transfer the main lines onto some linen I picked up a while ago. Then I stitch…
Finish them off with some ribbon, and buttons to hide the edges on the back…
And voila – cute ornaments or wall hangings or whatevers. (I think the fox in sox is my favourite so far!) Yes, I’ve taken a break from the naughty stitches to tap into my “cute” side for a while. Not feeling terribly sassy these days, as I sit with my foot up by the fire (I may have broken, or at least severely bruised, my toe last week). Anyhow. Just felt like sharing today. Less than two weeks to the first Christmas craft sale – wish me luck!
