December 2012

Long story made short… December 2012 was a month of illness for us. Monkeyboy Jr. brought home something truly nasty from school around the second week, and we’ve all been doing battle with it on/off and in-turn since then. Sadly, it did not end with our 8-hour stint for our wee one in the emergency room a few days after Christmas. But I am hoping the antibiotics he’s been put on will finally put this thing to rest <oh, pretty pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease>.

So many things have been skipped over, radically simplified, set aside, or simply forgotten about because of this ridiculousness: decorations were minimized, gift giving was localized, socializing was practically non-existent, and other various fun activities were, well, limited… At least Santa got his cookies, I suppose. *le sigh*

Amidst all the phlegmy chaos, however, we somehow managed to carve out some time to put together our annual family Christmas photo. We decided to go with an “Avengers” theme this year, as it was such a popular movie with the boys, and we were inspired by the tag scene during the credits. It was a super “quick and dirty” photo shoot and also a “quick and dirty” edit, but it gets the idea across, and that’s all we could manage this year. Ah, well.
