Mini-Vacation, Day 2 Fairmont
After a bumpy night of pseudo-sleep (novel environment, reflux, and head colds – oh, my!) we rounded ourselves up, had a late breakfast, and headed out for some exploring.
Of course, some of us were more eager than others.
Poor, tired, crabby baby.
Somebody had left some inuksuit (pl. of inukshuk) along the way.
Though there was plenty of beautiful nature to explore too.
The smell of the fresh pine air was incredible!!!
We headed up the hill to the old hot springs location.
Though there was graffiti, litter, and plugged water flow…
You could imagine how wonderful it used to be…
Lazing in hot mineral water and looking up at the sky…ahh.
While our eldest climbed rocks and the baby enjoyed the view…
We enjoyed a few minutes of peace and quiet. But just a few.
Because clearly there was stuff that needed to be done!
We headed toward the cabins we used to stay in when I was young.
And happened upon a playground for the little ones.
The baby thought the rocks looked tasty…silly baby.
After a nap for me and baby, and a swim for the boys, it was dinner.
That’s right, baby. FOOD is for eating, not rocks.
Though, apparently it is also for playing. At least it kept him quiet.
Toys were essential, as the wait at Huckleberry’s was ridiculous.
But we finally got our dinner, ate, and headed back to the room to sleep like these rocks…because sleeping “like a baby” is NOT a good thing in our family. 😉
