Mini-Vacation, Day 1 To Fairmont, BC
We now depart from our regularly scheduled programming to bring you some photos from a weekend getaway with the “fambily”.
Not one to sit idly by, I used the drive time to snap some snaps.
Harvest time in the prairies…my son calls them “toilet paper rolls”.
Due to some fires in BC, it was really smokey for about the first hour.
First stop – Canmore for dinner and a garbage gull (NOT for dinner).
Luckily, the baby decided to have a bit of a nap along the way.
While our eldest identified mountains, “Look, it’s ‘Ship’s Prow’!”
Of course, in our family, EVERY mountain is called “Ship’s Prow”.
With a refluxy baby, we made yet another pit stop along the way.
He was very happy to get out, play, and work out some bubbles.
Our eldest started collecting rocks, sticks, and tree cones. Woohoo!
While I poked around the gift store (good thing he didn’t see these).
Back in the car for one more hour of scenic driving.
The canyon at Radium – almost there – BEEP BEEP!!!
And finally we made it to Fairmont Hot Springs – yippie!
Just in time to quickly drop our things and head to the pool.
Everybody in the water – except the one with the camera, that is.
This is the warm pool in the foreground, the hotel in the midground.
And as the sun set over the valley, we called it a night and slept.
