Before Blog – Frames
This particular obsession all started (well before this blog) when my friends Julide and Miquel gave me (and my sweet dog Beckett) a cleverly decoupaged frame as a birthday gift.
I LOVED it so much, I decided to try to make something similar.
It took a looong time to construct, so I started to think of ways to streamline. Like limiting myself to just one sentiment or phrase.
And…
And…
Here are a few others en masse.
I adore making these frames, but they are still fairly labour-intensive and they don’t sell very well at craft fairs. So, I also tried going even simpler yet – using scrapbook paper.
Here they are en masse.
These sell ridiculously well, so I thought I’d try mirrors using the same technique.
Not bad, but not nearly as popular. And when push comes to shove, this kind of decoupaging is merely an exercise in manufacturing. So, when I have time, I gravitate more towards…
Or…
And even…
Still, a lot of work for a busy wife/mom/friend. Then, it occurred to me to try things on a smaller scale.
I just love these hanging Christmas ornaments! But Christmas comes only once a year, so I also tried embellishments and magnets.
People really seem to like these mini frames for their fridge or office wall or whatever. But as with all the photo frames, I often have to convince them that it’s okay to remove the included image and add their own.
Of course, if you don’t include images at all in the first place – problem solved!
Well. I think that’s it for now. Gee, somebody must like all things related to photography, huh?
